Industrial Radiographic Testing (RT)

Industrial Radiographic Testing(RT)

Radiographic and Gammagraphic Inspection enables the detection of a wide range of defects (such as porosity, inclusions, blowholes, cracks, wormholes, slag inclusions, and lack of penetration) present in industrial artifacts, castings, or welds.

This type of inspection is used for the detection of both surface and subsurface defects on all ferromagnetic materials, including welds and castings.

Industrial radiographic inspections are used to assess the quality of materials through the use of X or Gamma radiation.

DETECTABLE CHARACTERISTICS
With Industrial Radiographic Control

Variation in density due to defects such as cavities and inclusions.

FEATURES
Of Industrial Radiographic Control

  • Ability to have a permanent record that is easy to interpret.
  • Versatile in terms of materials and testable thicknesses of the test.

NOTES
Industrial Radiographic and Gammographic Inspection

  • Limitation of inspectable thicknesses.
  • Strict radiation precautions should be taken.
  • Difficult to detect cracks oriented perpendicular to the beam.

APPLICATIONS
Of Industrial Radiographic and Gammographic Control (RT)

Testing can be done on all materials as long as they are in a thickness range compatible with the type of source available, mainly on castings and welds.
